The bongo drums of Argentina are drumming with the joyous news that, Right Honourable Alan “1759” Huggett (Retired), a.k.a. “Sarge”, a.k.a. “Oi, you!” celebrates his bithday today.

Sarge has been seen wandering through South America wearing a Guinness t-shirt and a Guinness tie (similar to the one in the above picture), and cursing under his breath.

Alan, Sarge, Oi, you!, happy birthday from all of us, to all of you.

Quoting honorary President of Guinness Monday, an tUasal Bernard Tyers, “Today is a wonderful day for Ireland, Guinness and the world. As the IMF, and the ECB roll into Dublin, at least the we still have one ray of hope in the Irish-related world - Alan Huggett, paving the way Guinness imports all over the world.”

    Happy birthday Sarge!

“After the Britain Beer Festival, in London, all the brewery presidents decided to go out for a beer.

The guy from Corona sits down and says, “Hey Senor, I would like the world’s best beer, a Corona.” The bartender dusts off a bottle from the shelf and gives it to him.

The guy from Budweiser says, “I’d like the best beer in the world, give me ‘The King Of Beers’, a Budweiser.” The bartender gives him one.

The guy from Coors says, “I’d like the only beer made with Rocky Mountain spring water, give me a Coors.” He gets it.

The guy from Guinness sits down and says, “Give me a Coke.” The bartender is a little taken aback, but gives him what he ordered. The other brewery presidents look over at him and ask “Why aren’t you drinking a Guinness?”

The Guinness president replies, “Well, I figured if you guys aren’t drinking beer, neither would I.”

As tomorrow, September 24th 2009, is the worldwide Arthur Guinness Day 250th anniversary celebrations, I’d like to ask you all a small favour.

This very serious society, Guinness Monday International, who’s dedication is “to those who enjoy a pint of The Black Stuff and who have sporadic meetings in various locations around the world – but only on Mondays”.

Usually Guinness Monday’s are held with an official member of Guinness Monday. Photos are taken and put on the wonderful GuinnessMonday.com website.

Unfortunately, since Arthur Guinness Day is being held on a Thursday, we have had to make an exception. I tried calling Guinness in Dublin to ask them to move it to next Monday, but unfortunately they were all in the pub, and no-one was there to answer the phones…

    So, to the favour:

I want everyone in this e-mail, to go to a pub, preferably their local, order a Guinness, and raise a glass to Arthur Guinness. If you can, I would GREATLY appreciate it, if you could take a photo (ANY photo will do) and e-mail it to

    info@guinnessmonday.com

    Telling us:

    1. where it was held.
    2. what date.
    3. who was present.

When you do, your photo will be uploaded to GuinnessMonday.com website, and will go on our Guinness Monday Map

The best photos will get an official Guinness gift. The only thing: we will have to meet in person, so I can give it to you. It’s fragile :)

So, raise a glass to Arthur tomorrow, and send us your photos to info@guinnessmonday.com.

    Sláinte!

    Bernard
Honorary President, Guinness Monday Club International

    Board Members:

Mr. Alan Huggett, Vice-President & Founder, Guinness Monday Club International (UK & At-large)
Mr. James Kellum, , Vice-President & Founder, Guinness Monday Club International (USA, Republic of Texas, and Ireland)

    =====En Español=====

Mr. Alan Huggett, Vice-President & Founder, Guinness Monday Club International (UK & At-large),

Mr. James Kellum, Vice-President & Founder, Guinness Monday Club International (USA, Republic of Texas, and Ireland)
